Pastore is back with its sophomore release entitled “The End of Our Flames”. For those who are not aware, Pastore is a Brazilian heavy metal band which was formed by the singer Mario Pastore (Acid Storm, Delpht, Soulspell) & the guitarist Rafael Gazal in 2007.

“The End of Our Flames” is a step further for the band in every part… thing that was anticipated in a way but I think some things are better than some were expecting them to be. Frist of all, the band’s sound is awesome, heavy, tight and forceful with a contemporary flavor. That’s how a heavy metal release should be produced. The album was recorded in Sao Paulo, Brazil and produced by Raphael Gazal. The mix and mastering was handled by Thomas “Plec” Johansson (Scar Symmetry, Miseration, Incrave etc.) at Panic Room Studio, Sweden.

Secondly the songwriting has matured as well. Avoiding any mistakes of the past, they focused mostly on Mario’s great, powerful & “theatrical” vocals by delivering fine melodies and heavy grooving riffs. Bowing to bands such as: Judas Priest, Dio, Black Sabbath, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, King Diamond, Helloween, Nevermore, Darkology, Saxon, Accept and so on, Pastore do not claim that they have reinvented the wheel but they rather pay “tribute” to the bands they grew up with. There’s not better proof to that than listening to the album. The opener, which was released as a video too, “Brutal Storm” is a killer metal tune. The same goes for the homonymous “The End of Our Flames”, “Fools”, “Empty World”, the semi-ballad “When the Sun Rises”, “Envy” & “Unreal Messages”. If you’re a true metalhead that worships the aforementioned bands, then there’s no chance to be left unsatisfied by “The End of Our Flames”.
