After almost 5 years of absence, the Italians Lionville decided to break their silence with their third album “A World of Fools”. Blending AOR with melodic rock and pop-rock, along with a few Westcoast touches, Lionville present a fine new album that’s easy-listening and pleasant as well.
Vocalist, songwriter and producer Stefano Lionetti, apart from having a wonderful voice, has also delivered a very smooth yet “delicate” production. The album was also mixed and mastered by Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge Of Forever, Hardline etc.). On the songwriting part Stefano had the help from Robert Sall, Alessandro Del Vecchio, Bruce Gaitsch, Soren Kronkvist, Gianluca Firmo, Thomas Vikstrom, and Ida West as well.
Were I to have an objection about the album, I’d say about the similarity of the tracks. They mostly move on the same pace and they are a bit alike in general, thing which makes you think you’re listening to a long track at times. That doesn’t mean that most of the tracks are not fine, but it’s true that variety is missing here. Nonetheless, the fans of the genre will have a good time listening to “A World of Fools”…
