“Fade Away” is hugely personal to Verity as she explains: “There’s no getting around it, "Fade Away" is a song about loss”.

In January 2018 Verity lost one of her best friends to cancer, it was sudden and painful, but out of that experience she’s hoping to connect with anyone who’s felt that great unknown when you lose someone you love.

“I think the emotion and words in this song will speak to anyone who has been what I was when we lost Ian at the start of the year”, she says, “there are so many questions you’re left with and such a sense of emptiness, I hope this reaches those who need it and they feel less alone”.

Verity White, a regular on the prog-rock circuit as a member of Pendragon, started releasing her own music in 2016. She takes influences from the 90s rock and grunge scene, twisting it up with synths, strings and her intricate vocal lines to create brutal yet beautiful songs - loved by fans of Halestorm, Nine Inch Nails, The Pretty Reckless, Tori Amos and Skunk Anansie.

Fireworks magazine commented on this mashup of styles, saying “"Breaking Out" fits very well alongside the canon of female artists who found success in the 90s which includes such names as Garbage and PJ Harvey.... White’s debut album is quite novel and incorporates all of those influences with a more modern sound”. While Prog Radar exclaimed Verity as “arguably one of the best female artists of her generation”.

Recently, Verity and her band have been impressing gig-goers at festivals (Lechlade, FeckFest, Frogfest) and live music venues (Pizza Express Live, The Troubadour, Notting Hill Arts Club) scores then U.K., and they’re now planning their second tour in Spring 2019, to coincide with the release of a new album. “Own Me”, the first single from the upcoming album came out in June and the second single “Fade Away” in October.

Having spent a few years touring the world with Pendragon, and even supporting them on their 2017 European tour, Verity has plenty of stage presence and experience, and the live shows with her full band continue to grab audiences attention. Verity writes with her husband, producer and guitarist Alex White and is joined by Joe Kelly and Alex McIntosh on stage. Verity is well engaged in the music scene in the U.K. and uses her strong social media presence to actively support mental health awareness, the arts and female empowerment.
