Revival Black Step in Line single cover
Liverpool’s Revival Black, are delighted to announce the release of a new single and video for “Step in Line” the title track from their debut album.

“Step in Line”, the single, will be available via all download and streaming services worldwide from Fri 19 June, 2020, and is the final track release to be taken from their acclaimed debut album of the same name, released in Oct 2019.

The 10-song album is also be available worldwide via all streaming and download platforms, with physicals CDs distributed by Cargo Records and available here.

“Step in Line” was recorded at Liverpool’s famous The Motor Museum Recording Studio, with Loic Gaillard behind the production desk. The striking, dystopian cover art was created by Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art. The lyric video to accompany the single release was created by Zak Muller at Studface Productions.

Drummer, Ash Janes, said of the track: “"Step in Line" was the last song we wrote for the album. The idea around it is the whole ‘big brother’ idea with control being the central theme. We also felt that the song’s meaning and title really stuck with us and related to us all; so we thought it would also be the right name for the album.

Rimmer (Alan Rimmer, guitars) had the idea for the song and how he wanted the chorus and vocal melody to sit, so the song grew around that initial chorus idea. The outro alone definitely makes it the heaviest track on the album.

We decided to tackle the track early on in the studio as it was the freshest song to us. We thought it would be the most challenging to record but it only took us one or two takes to nail. For the outro we actually had our producer Loic record backing vocals. He did some mad metal growl vocals underneath Dan’s (Dan Byrne, vocals) lines. We pushed them way down in the mix but it really makes the outro vocal stand out.

For the video we teamed up with Zak Muller at Studface Productions. We had worked with him before for the So Alive video and we knew he would be the right guy to put our ideas on screen. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do”.
