The Well live at The Black Heart in London 2020

Manchester based band Ritual King are already warming up the audience. They show that they can deliver anthem like rock that it’s also commercial, without losing the factor that make the band so hot. Their music is fundamentally heavy blues, influenced by 70s rock and modern stoner rock and makes their sound more unique; they also add some elements of folk rock, which is again something you don’t hear every day!

“Death and Consolation” is without a doubt a weighty album title. And, The Well is among the heaviest heavy psych bands in existence. So when we say that there’s even more darkness and intensity to the band’s third album than previous efforts, take heed. It’s a deep sea diving bell of enveloping heaviness and longing.

Paul Roland with Mick Crossley - Grimmer Than Grimm

Paul Roland is an interesting case. An eclectic songwriter and performer, that transcends categorization as his music dwells between psychedelia, baroque, pop, folk, gothic, rock… you name it. Far too often inspired by classic literature, horror stories, the occult and paranormal, he does so, not in light “theatrical” way, despite his music having great atmosphere and theatricality. A person who’s explored and written about the paranormal and an author himself, he has a certain authority on the matter.
