In the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic...

GR logoHow’s life gonna be after the coronavirus? I’m sure lots of people have thought about it during the lockdown and almost everyone is longing for that day. But… and there’s always that big “but’, which can turn things upside down in an instance. Is life gonna be the same after the coronavirus?

So, are we all gonna be out like nothing has happened and take things from where we left them? I bet there are people who have such a possibility in mind… but the damn truth is that nothing will be the same after such a global shock… a shock that has deeply affected people’s health, making them realize again how vulnerable they are. After that an enormous economic crisis will follow.

There are many theories (not only conspiracy ones) that have been around the web all these time. The vaxim, the bio-chips and the after the covid-19 thing and how people are gonna be safe (and assured/secure) since they are so unsafe against a deadly virus… or any other deadly viruses that people may have to face in the next years or decades. They must find a way to secure people’s health and control them in a way, so that everyone should feel okay and sure for their own life and everyday give and takes. Do not be surprised if there are new laws and regulations that will limit peoples’ freedom of expression and rights to secure global health and safety against the “new” viruses in the future. You see everyone’s got their plans…

And the day after the lockdown is over and all extreme measures (for people’s safety) will be loosen or vanish (?)…then, the vast monster of recession will be there to take control of our lives. The recession is gonna be so deep that’s gonna lead all those who are making money in the free market to depression. And what are the measures that all the governments are gonna take due to the recession? Here’s the big catch. None will be left out of this economic crisis… and of course how will music business will get through it… the music labels and the bands/artists?

You see first comes the survival issue (along with the instinct) and then the entertainment one. When the first one will be solved in any way with lots of injustices of course, then people will start caring for the second one (the entertainment), but they are not gonna be in position to spend as much as they used to for entertainment, cuz survival always comes first… and education follows. Let alone the psychological problems and disorders that have increased due to the “new” virus and the economic crisis that follows right after.

Then again things are not gonna be so bad… there’s always the bright side when something is over and something new is rising. The life we knew before the coronavirus is over… the life after the covid-19 pandemic is about to begin… just take your places and be ready for everything…

PS1: Unfortunately life won’t be the same after this major lockdown… the digital world is okay to do your work and to have fun, but not to live on it entirely!

PS2: This month’s editorial is dedicated to the guitarist Louie A. Kouvaris, who passed away due to covid-19, on March 28th, at the age of 65. Lou is most known for being the original guitarist of Riot and played on the band’s debut “Rock City” (1977). Thx for the music Lou! Rest in Peace…
