Therion - Beloved Antichrist

Therion’s fifteenth album of “original” material is kind of divisive in more ways than one. After the 70s version of Therion that “Luciferian Light Orchestra” turned out to be that offered a nice enough diversion along with the French cover songs album that Nuclear Blast refused point blank to release for just being too “weird”, one can easily come to the conclusion that Therion haven’t been their usual selves for quite a while now. Experimentation? Lack of inspiration? Delusions of Grandeur? All or none of the above? Who knows...

The entire piece reaches an impressive length of 3 hours. The dramatic and epic opus comes to life through 27 different character roles, performed by long-time band members like Thomas Vikstrom, Lori Lewis and Chiara Malvestiti, amongst many others.

Osyron to release new studio album “Kingsbane” on November 7th 2017

The Canadian Symphonic Metallers from Osyron have revealed full details for their upcoming second album!

The new album will be titled “Kingsbane” and has a release date set for November 7th, 2017.

The 8-track album tells the tale of a reluctant hero embarking on a journey as unlikely as it is fantastic. A sprawling tale of outward motivations driving inward change. Our hero faces the daunting task of overthrowing a powerful tyrant king with an unyielding grip on his distressed kingdom.

The album spins a story as rich as the soundscapes created by this quintet out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Mindfar - The Dark Tower

Mindfar is the debut effort of this “one man” (plus a woman on some female vocals I presume), the Italian guitarist Armando De Angelis. It sounds decent for a one man project, with the only very “obvious” drawback being the drums, which are programmed. While they are not the worst sounding ones I’ve heard… it always takes a lot away from the end result, plus they usually stick out a bit in the mix. Also Armando is not the best vocalist there’s ever been, but thankfully he’s also far from the worst, avoiding embarrassment.

Talvienkeli - Hybris

With a name like Talvienkeli, I half expected the band to be Finnish and not French, but I digress; people can choose to call themselves whatever they like, no matter how tongue twisting and odd it may sound. So this French quintet was created when two projects who had run their course merged into a new band. Following a few lineup changes and an EP in 2014, the band had been hard at work on their debut “Hybris”...
