Godspeed You! Black Emperor to release new studio album “G_d’s Pee AT STATE’S END!” on April 2nd 2021

GY!BE returns with another soundtrack for our times, like only this inimitable and venerable ensemble can forge. As the heretical anarcho-punk spirit of the title implies, Godspeed harnesses some particularly raw power, spittle and grit across two riveting 20-minute side-length trajectories of noise-drenched widescreen post-rock: inexorable chug blossoms into blown-out twang, as some of the band’s most soaring, searing melodies ricochet and converge amidst violin and bassline counterpoint.

Big|Brave to release new studio album “Vital” on April 23rd 2021

Minimalism and instinct, structure/freedom and meticulous timing form the cornerstones of Big|Brave’s precise, rhythmical sound.

Lyrically, the new album “Vital” explores the weight of race and gender, endurance and navigating other people’s behaviours, observation and protest. The band further commented “this album involves what it means navigating the outside world in a racialized body and what it does to the psyche as a whole while exploring individual worth within this reality”.
 

BRUIT ≤ to release full-length debut album “The Machine is Burning and Now Everyone Knows It Could Happen Again” on April 2nd 2021

Emerging from the ashes of several pop bands, the BRUIT ≤ project was born of the desire of its members to turn their backs on the majors and return to a process of creation without constraints. Initially, the band’s intention was not to perform live, but to research and experiment with sound in a studio environment. At the end of 2016, this research would result in two live videos filmed in their studio that would enable the band to make its debut on the Toulouse scene.
 

My Own Private Alaska to release new EP “Let This Rope Cross All the Lands” on March 26th 2021

After 10 years on hiatus, early 2020 seen My Own Private Alaska return to the scene with a reissue of their pathbreaking debut album, “Amen”. Now,  the “pianocore” collective from Toulouse, France, is highlighting their triumphal comeback with the release of a brand new EP!

Let This Rope Cross All the Lands”, which will be out on March 26th, 2021 via AWAL, is filled with the haunting, avantgarde post-rock and apocalypse atmospheres My Own Private Alaska is known for, but will even go way deeper.

Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou to release new EP “The Helm of Sorrow” on January 15th 2021

On the heels of their full length collaboration, Thou and Emma Ruth Rundle (appearing courtesy of Sargent House) are releasing a companion EP, “The Helm of Sorrow”, which includes additional songs from the sessions from the collaborative project.

Today they’ve shared its single “Hollywood” along with a short video for “Elysian Fields” by Thou’s Mitch Wells. Check them both out below.
