Bloodbath to release new studio album “The Arrow of Satan is Drawn” on October 26th 2018

Like all gore-drenched sequels, demonic death metal supergroup, Bloodbath’s fifth slice of morbid savagery comes even darker, nastier and sicker than before.

It’s been four years since “Grand Morbid Funeral”, and Stockholm’s shadiest death cult – with members drawn from metal luminaries Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Opeth and Craft - return with a new slab of old-school, HM-2 driven blackness: “The Arrow of Satan is Drawn”.

Paradise Lost - Medusa

Paradise Lost was probably the head of the triumvirate of Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema, three of the strongest doom/death metal bands that came out of Britain in the 90s single-handedly signaling the shift in musical opinion as far as metal is concerned in the British Isles. By far the most successful of the bunch, Paradise Lost did really make a mark on the metal scene and was touted to become the next big thing in the mid-90s, with albums like “Icon” and “Draconian Times” becoming firm fan favorites. Their “Draconian Times” gig was actually the second gig I ever attended after Accept’s 94 Athenian stint, so count me impressed and a rather old timer.

Paradise Lost to release new studio album “Medusa” on September 1st 2017

Paradise Lost's new studio album “Medusa” will be released on September 1st, 2017, via Nuclear Blast. With this 15th full-length release, the legends are returning to their early beginnings, delivering their heaviest record of the past 15 years, melding crushing doom metal with Nick Holmes’ harsh death growls and raw organic sounds, heralding a new era of pure Northern misery.

The artwork was created by Branca Studio and shows the infamous Gorgone Medusa from Greek mythology, carrying venomous snakes as hair and turning anyone into stone who would dare to look into her eyes.

Guitarist Greg Mackintosh contemplates about the artwork:
