On October 25th, 2019, Cirith Ungol will release their new live album/DVD, “I’m Alive”, via Metal Blade Records. Capturing Cirith Ungol at the peak of their darkened, mystical powers before a rapturous crowd at the Up the Hammers festival in Athens, Greece, this recording showcases the magic and might of the band onstage. It’s accompanied by additional performances recorded at the Hammer of Doom (2017) and Rock Hard Festivals (2018) in Germany.

The monumental project started to take shape over recent years, and mirroring its epic sound cascades, the lyrical concept was developed.

Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2019 - Day 3

After two days of unpredictable weather and slowly growing mud, the heavens finally opened on Bloodstock Open Air’s final offering of heavy to see Belgian death metal figureheads Aborted play the wettest set at the festival thus far. While the circumstances were not ideal for anyone, Aborted saw fit to do what bands performing at festivals ought to; play their biggest hits and some sprinklings of new material here and there.

Since 2015, Bloodstock has grown incapacity, and this year’s event had its fair share of controversies. The most high-profile being the inevitable booking of their first metalcore headliner, Parkway Drive, at the expense of many enraged ‘true metal’ fans, as well as numerous band drop-outs beyond the organizer’s control, including the likes of Skeletonwitch, Code Orange and Dimmu Borgir (who they cancelled a day before their show).

Bloodstock reveal RAM Gallery exhibitors & after hours entertainment

Bloodstock is excited to unveil details of 2019’s onsite RAM Gallery, one of the more unique elements that sets Bloodstock apart from other festivals. Festival founder and globally renowned artist, Paul Raymond Gregory created the onsite RAM Gallery in 2014 and each year the purpose-built structure showcases not only some of Paul’s work, but several other Bloodstock-related rock and metal-friendly artists and creatives in a professionally hung and sensitively lit environment.
