DragonForce announces March 2020 US Headlining Tour

This past September, DragonForce unleashed their eighth full-length, “Extreme Power Metal”, via Metal Blade Records.

In support of its release, the band will head out on the road next month in Europe, before touring the US with Unleash The Archers and Visions Of Atlantis. Both of these treks will see Alicia Vigil (Vigil Of War) handling bass and backing vocals for the band.

DragonForce - Extreme Power Metal

British cheddar metal maestros have now existed for two decades, releasing eight albums, confirming that if you’re consistent it doesn’t exactly matter what you’re gonna be all about, you are likely to succeed if you put some effort into it.

Dragonforce’s nintendocore power metal remains as stagnant as it ever was. Cheery, major key, superfast, with vibrato being a taboo word and sounding like sped up video game music, with over the top lyrics on top.

Thorium to release self-titled debut album on October 5th 2018

Empire Records is proud to announce the self-titled debut album of Thorium!

Given great incentive by their work together in Belgium’s legendary Heavy Metal band Ostrogoth, axemen Dario Frodo, Kurk “Stripe” Lawless and Tom Tee found themselves overwhelmed by massive amounts of inspiration for new material, much of which proved to lie too much outside the boundaries of what they could rightly realize with Ostrogoth.

Drakkar - Diabolical Empathy

This Drakkar, not to be confused with the more popular Italian power metallers, is a Belgium based combo that has existed since 1983, releasing an album at the tail end of that decade before going in hiatus for about a decade. They made a brief comeback in the late 90s that didn’t wield more than a demo and the latest effort was their reunion to re-release their debut in 2012 and a live album that came in 2014. Unfortunately their guitarist Thierry Del Cane died in 2016 and they lost drummer Jonas Sanders to Pro-Pain. They have suffered further lineup changes in 2017 with their bassist being replaced, but they seem to be soldiering on, no matter what.

Destructor - Decibel Casualties

Ohio’s Destructor was a power thrash that had a promising start in the mid-80s, but folded soon after the tragic demise of their bassist Dave Holocaust. They didn’t reunite until after a decade past that tragic event and with the whole “resurgence” of underground metal, they were given a “second chance” and lease of life, releasing both new and legacy material. Original members Dave Overkill (vocals, guitar) and drummer Matt Flammable return aided with Nick Annihilator (guitar) and Tim Hammer (bass) aiding their pursuit of speed and maximum destruction.
