Epica and Apocalyptica announce Fall & Winter 2020 European co-headlining Tour

This fall Dutch Symphonic titans Epica and Finnish Cello masters Apocalyptica will join forces for the “Epic Apocalypse Tour”.

The tour comes in support of Epica’s upcoming album, which will be released later this year. Support on all dates will be provided by Helsinki prog metallers Wheel.

Apocalyptica - Cell-0

I must have watched Apocalyptica performing on several occasions, both them doing their metal “covers” but also their original material as well. The level of sophistication and cool factor that their classic training offered when they re-engineered several Metallica tunes on their debut, solely on cellos, offered them a strong springboard, so when they released their original material adding a drummer and later on vocalists, they were really able to capitalize on the modicum of success that they were initially granted.

Apocalyptica to release new studio album “Cell-0” on January 10th 2020

Bristling with an epically baroque life and energy, “Cell-0”, the ninth studio album by Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers Apocalyptica, will be released on January 10th, 2020, via Silver Lining Music.

The recording of “Cell-0” followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band - Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, Paavo Lotjonen, and Mikko Siren, all of whom are classically-trained musicians - a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music.

To call Yngwie Malmsteen a “maestro” or “virtuoso” is to state the obvious. But such terms don’t do sufficient justice to either his talent or impact. There are innumerable guitarists who have copied a small part of the vast musical spectrum that defines him, but nobody comes close to achieving what he has over a period of nearly four decades.

Hi Uli, thank you very much for taking the extra time. I am here on the behalf of Grande Rock.

U: Where is this?

Greece.

Uli: We will probably play there next year June.

How’s the tour so far and what are the best moments that you’ve had up until today?

Uli Jon Roth live in London 2018

Supported by a young and hungry performer known as Kaleb McKane and his four piece band presented an excellent set with his brilliant bluesy solos definitely shacked up still waters and fired up the audience.

After a short change up we were ready to experience the night’s long awaited headliner.
