Reject The Sickness to release new studio album “The Weight of Silence” on May 28th 2021

Two years after their second album “The Weight of Silence”, Belgium’s Reject The Sickness returns with an album so mercilessly crushing and heavy that you have to experience it to believe it. 2019’s in-between EP “The New Chapter” already indicated that Reject The Sickness were travelling on a new path towards musical maturity. With “While Our World Dissolves” this journey has been completed with astonishing results exceeding the promise of the earlier EP.

Meshuggah enter Sweetspot Studios for new album and announce return of guitarist Fredrik Thordendal

Swedish extreme tech-metal pioneers Meshuggah have entered Sweetspot Studios in Sweden to record their ninth studio album and follow-up to their highly acclaimed and Grammy Nominated album, “The Violent Sleep of Reason”.

The band comments: “Things are happening. As some of you figured out we have entered Sweetspot Studios and have begun recording a new album. ::Spoiler:: There will be distortion and kicks. 

Alien Weaponry announces upcoming performances with New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in May 2021

Metal stars Alien Weaponry are embraced by fans and critics internationally as one of the current generation’s biggest names in heavy music, especially in their home country of New Zealand, where the band has achieved nearly household name status. This May 2021, the band plans to uplift their local fans in a completely new way by performing in unity with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra at two special performances, taking place in Kirikiriroa Hamilton and Ōtautahi Christchurch.
 

Go Ahead And Die sign with Nuclear Blast Records

Nuclear Blast are proud to announce the signing of Arizona’s Go Ahead And Die. The band features vocalist and guitarist Max Cavalera joining forces with his son, singer, guitar and bass player Igor Amadeus Cavalera, as well as Zach Coleman on drums to produce a sound that mixes elements of death and thrash metal, with early Celtic Frost influences and a punk attitude.

Meshuggah announces November and December 2021 European Headlining Tour

Swedish extreme tech-metal pioneers Meshuggah are proud to announce their European tour dates for November and December 2021.

The band is currently working on the successor of “The Violent Sleep of Reason”, which was released four years ago. Meshuggah will kick-off the European part of the tour on November, 19th in Vienna.

Special guest (except for the Oberhausen Show) will be the Swiss/American Post Black Metal act Zeal & Ardor.

All these “supergroup”/crossover situations can be either interpreted, as a quick cashgrab or actually an attempt to step out of one’s comfort zone or vanity projects. Some of those have seemed to derail even mega-successful stars careers (skunkworks, 2wo anyone?) but they’re not always that bad… it all sort of depends.
