Skid Row live in Athens 2019

Without a support band to get things going, despite an initial announcement that there would be (opening act-s), Skid Row came on stage at around 22.30 after a taped intro of the Ramone’s “Blitzkrieg Bop” had finished playing. Inside people were so tightly packed together that even attempting to go for a drink or to the restroom, would prove to be a monumental task. Either a larger venue or a few less tickets might have solved that.

L.A. Guns - The Devil You Know

Since getting back together under the L.A Guns banner, the duo of the primary proponents have stayed togethers while the rest of the band has changed around them. There’s even the Steve Riley version of the band, which sort of existed before the merger but continued to perform as well. The more famous lineup has released so far the excellent “The Missing Peace” back in 2017, as well as a live album recorded in Milan last year, only to follow those up with a new album earlier this year.

Steel Panther and Gus G. live in London 2019

We were all waiting around in baited anticipation, watching for movement by the stage. Then suddenly the lights and music go down, and cheers start calling out. They walked out onto the darkened stage one by one, Satchel and Foxx stand on either side of Stix on raised platforms at the back of the stage. You can just see their silhouettes, with legs astride in proper 80s power poses. Starr walks up to the front of the stage and starts bigging up the crowd, the cheering and clapping rains down in response.
