The Darkness were the closest thing to a classic rock band to come out of the UK in recent memory to achieve some sort of success and cultural relevance, but maybe due to the fact that they overdid it, with the stratospheric falsettos, they imploded as soon as their second album came out in a haze of white powder and a blame powerplay.
In all honesty, Angel did exist from 75-81. There were attempts to resurrect the band and compilations and the attempt to get the band restarted in the late 90s (albeit with a different lineup) even released an album under the moniker, which was fair in all honesty. Two decades later another album comes out under the name, featuring Punky Meadows and Frank Dimino and several musicians that have been with them throughout the years.
God, I just love how unapologetically rock ‘n roll, Michael Monroe is! The former Hanoi Rocker, who’s been flying solo since the second split of his main band, keep coming around every other year with strong, streetwise punkish rock ‘n roll that just does what it says on the tin, without a care in the world, about what people might or might not say. And it’s an authentic as hell attitude, not some sort of posturing or posing.

Today Mister Misery from Stockholm, Sweden released their first-ever full-length record “Unalive”! To celebrate “Unalive” the band released the music video for “Alive” and announced their own headline tour for 2020!
Bitch Queens are a deranged bunch of Swiss fellows that plays a fuzzy, balls out, nihilist sort of punk with tracer of rock… this is not the happy melodic accessible stuff that Green Day is all about, there are not ballads and “mature” songs; it’s all fuck this and fuck that, which is pretty ironic, with them coming from the richest country in the European continent.
The room was filling up already, which can be unusual for the first band, Tequila Mockingbyrd. It’s great to see another kick-ass girl rock band on a big stage, always need more! Blue lights flooded the stage as they start to play. Their bouncy songs and performance was full of energy, making them the perfect warm-up act. You can see they’re having a fantastic time and love their music.
