The Wizards Of Winter - The Magic of Winter

The Wizards Of Winter are a Yuletide rock ensemble, think a somewhat more folk, equally symphonic, but more banal version of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra of whom they feature some original members. I would imagine no longer performing with T$O, but still eyeing on the nice holiday ca$h in that these projects, have proven, for once nice classic bands like Savatage and Twisted Sister, which decided to start singing the carols, when they saw that the holiday market would pocket them more than they normally make in a whole year, within a couple of months…

Trans-Siberean Orchestra - Letters from the Labyrinth

I always “hated” TSO because that was marked, more or less, the “end” of Savatage, which then were put in “hiatus” since the various members attempted either solo album releases that in some cases went well enough and in others were almost complete catastrophes and brought about also a trio of “offshoot” bands that again had varying degrees of success. Savatage did a “reunion” that according to an interview cost them an awful lot to do, while according to others must have brought them a small fortune, as the whole business-model of this “carol” playing show has…

Tarja Turunen to release “Ave Maria – En Plein Air” on September 11th 2015

Ave Maria” is a traditional prayer dedicated to the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus, asking for her intercession. It has been set to music in over 4000 songs, some of which kept the original prayer as words while others used a different text than the traditional one.

Ave Maria – En Plein Air” features 12 beautiful “Ave Maria” songs by a wide variety of composers. Tarja Turunen breathes life into some of the most loved and rare songs of Paolo Tosti, David Popper, Astor Piazzolla, and of course Johann Sebastian Bach/Charles Gounod, among others. The closing track of the album presents a magnificent composition by Tarja Turunen herself.

Rage announces new line-up & tour dates for 2015

An outcry went through the metal scene, when Peter "Peavy" Wagner and Victor Smolski of Rage declared the end of their musical collaboration in the beginning of February 2015. Since André Hilgers also had to leave his place behind the drums, rumors were running high quickly and there was even talk about Rage would call it quits. Though Peavy made it clear over and over again in interviews that the new line-up of the band was already positioned, the names of his new band mates remained untold.

Now the wait has come to an end - the new line-up of Rage reads as follows:
Peter "Peavy" Wagner - vocals, bass

Andy Martongelli - Spiral Motion

Andy Martongelli is the guitarist of the metal band Arthemis. Taking a break from his main band, Andy decided to record and release his first solo work. Well, there’s not much to guess here. We have a guitarist that has a solo album out… so it has to be a guitaristic, instrumental album with lots of “show-off” moments, shredding and all the fancy things guitarists fancy. That’s how a typical guitar-album should be like. And in truth to be told, all the guitarists in the world do exactly the same thing by hook or by crook!

Andy Martongelli reveals album line-up and special guests

Spiral Motion”, the new solo album by Andy Martongelli, will be released on November 5th, 2014. Andy unveiled some amazing guest musicians that played some killer solos on his new record.

Guest musicians:
Michael Angelo Batio (Nitro)
Dave Reffet (Guitar World Magazine)
Alex Stornello (Angels & Demons)
Dave Martone

Dave Martone played a great solo on the song “Bite the Bullet” while the other three guests are featured on the song “Cyber-Hammer of the Gods”, a fiery-guitar-shredding-celebration of Metal guitar!
