Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2019 - Day 1

Since 2015, Bloodstock has grown incapacity, and this year’s event had its fair share of controversies. The most high-profile being the inevitable booking of their first metalcore headliner, Parkway Drive, at the expense of many enraged ‘true metal’ fans, as well as numerous band drop-outs beyond the organizer’s control, including the likes of Skeletonwitch, Code Orange and Dimmu Borgir (who they cancelled a day before their show).

Life Of Agony to release new studio album “The Sound of Scars” on October 11th 2019

On October 12th, 1993, Life Of Agony’s iconic debut “River Runs Red” was released. Hailed by Rolling Stone as “one of the greatest metal records of all time”, “River Runs Red” was an emotional concept album that focused on a troubled teenager’s inability to cope with what seemed to be the worst week of his life. The album connected to a broken generation in a visceral way through its cathartic message and hard-hitting approach, and the band developed a cult-following in the process.
 

Pinewalker to release debut album “Migration” on September 6th 2019

Salt Lake City, Utah-based quintet Pinewalker is preparing to release their sprawling debut album, “Migration”. Completed for release in early September, the album boasts a cathartic concept, an homage to loved ones lost to cancer, delivered through a crushing display of thundering, groove-heavy doom/sludge metal. The album’s details including preorders and the first single, “Bone Collector”, have been posted.
 

Cult Of Luna to release new studio album “A Dawn to Fear” on September 20th 2019

On September 20th, 2019, Cult Of Luna will release their new album, “A Dawn to Fear”, the band’s first material under their sole name since 2013’s “Vertikal 1&2”.

Cranial to release new studio album “Alternate Endings” on September 27th 2019

Sludge metal heavyweights Cranial return with their sophomore album, “Alternate Endings”, to be released on September 27th, 2019, by capable Moment of Collapse Records! Risen from the ashes of almighty Omega Massif, Cranial took the best ingredients, created their own sound and developed it even further. Powerful and earth shattering, apocalyptic and destructive, melodies as uplifting as they are depressive - once again the band pushed themselves forward and refined their songwriting.

Shadecrown release lyric video for new single “Rain’s Edge”

Finnish melodic death/doom band Shadecrown released a second single “Rain’s Edge”, which is taken from the upcoming second album “Riven”. The album will be released later in 2019 by Inverse Records and it is mixed and mastered by keyboardist & songwriter Saku Tammelin at Painwood Studio, Viitasaari, Finland.

Alcest announces new album “Spiritual Instinct” - due out in October 2019
