WIG WAM

ROXY BITCH

UNDERWORLD CLUB - ATHENS/SATURDAY 20 MAY 2006

Well this, Saturday I feel right, I’ve been drinking all day, I also drove down to the pub to see a rock n roll show, full of wine women and song! And what a darn party it was.

I hit the club at about nine and made small talk with some of our dear friends, not failing to notice one - heart stealing nice lady in our extended company. Oooh!

Roxy Bitch - who took the stage in full glammy regalia, leopard spandex and all LA style-y - were not bad - on the contrary - quite energetic. They did quite a few of covers, without making me cringe. “House Of Fire” was fun - when 2 rock-bitches went up - and started rubbing them selves on band members resulting - in the band loosing the eggs and the easter bunnies, which was quite funny. They weren’t too bad - as I said - and fans of Crue must have really appreciated what they did. It’s just like - that songs like – “Bathroom Wall” - (their own - didn't go anywhere-fast) and the greek-a-lized Version of Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” I could have lived without. At any rate - they were more than ok.

And then omg! The guys - took the stage. I should mention that Glam had arrived in a yellow Game of Death/Kill Bill sort of bodysuit and silvery glittering platform boots - with a tagari - which was certainly something to behold - and made tourists and locals outside the club turn their heads! By the time they took the stage - he had changed into a black n white catsuit - and Indian wings. hahahaahahahaha! Godly!!!

If I remember correctly, the band opened with “Rock My Ride” and played a lot of their own hits like “Bless The Night”, “Erection” (solo), “Hard To Be A Rock ‘N’ Roller”, “Daredevil Heat”, “Rock ‘N Roll Girl Like You” in which our dear Irene - moaned like a little RNR girl she is - (I demand a duet!) LOL, “Gonna Get You Someday” and “Kill My Rock ‘N’ Roll”. Glam – didn’t miss a beat and started feeling women - kissing them - and simulating carnal activities with them, prowling to the bar and back - and generally acting like a mad circus ringleader. Very DLR like - totally Nutz! It should also be mentioned that they performed a medley of Aerosmith songs (“Love In An Elevator/Walk This Way”) Bon Jovi’s “Living On A Prayer” and Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz”, finally bringing down the house with a superb rendition of their smash hit “In My Dreams”. The band wrecked the stage. And glam - destroyed the drums! (I hope I m not forgetting any songs - well I might)

The band’s performance was outstanding. They’re great musicians, they know their rock and you can see - that they are having Tons of Fun onstage. I was quite miserable - and they lifted me up - n I was quite blue - but by the end of their show I was thrashing around in total euphoria!!! Something that no amount of money- or drugs or whatever can offer you - but music easily can!

I’d also like to raise the middle finger to those miserable bastards that didn’t want to go to these “sissies” n’ pozers - cause they just missed a great rock ‘n’ roll show - on par with the Twisted Sister show of last summer ! Hurray!

Well there you have it - I wrote a complete review although I was seriously contemplating - to only write This is/was Rock N’ Roll Baby !!!
