SURPRISE OF SEPTEMBER 2006

SUNSTORM
“SUNSTORM”

(Frontiers)

This album is a big surprise that came out of nowhere! No one believed that some demo songs that were written years ago could make such an impact today. But that’s the beauty of our beloved music… isn’t it? When you think that everything is so predictable, comes a release like SunStorm and tears all the walls down! Joe is a famous artist (singer/songwriter) that has offered us, through the years, great anthems and many touching moments. I really respect him and like him a lot and I know that his name is a guarantee when it comes to good melodic qualitative music.

That couldn’t change with SunStorm although I was really curious to see how the band and Joe would present those “old” songs in 2006. I wasn’t wrong at all and Joe made it once again. “SunStorm” is a superb album that will please even the most demanding rock fan! New and old rock fans will have the same pleasure while listening to this excellent work. Joe is singing as if he was 25 years old and the band, Uwe Reitenauer (guitars), Chris Schmidt (drums), Dennis Ward (bass, backing vocals, additional guitars & keyboards), Jochen Weyer (keyboards), is simply fantastic. Dennis has made once again a hell of a job ‘cause the arrangements and the production of the album are awesome. I should also mention the help of Jim Peterik who has given some great songs to the band. Moreover the two covers (“Heart Over Mind” and “Fistful of Heat”) of Van Stephenson’s songs are excellent and I believe that this is the best tribute that Joe and his gang could do for the great artist Van.

Don’t have much to say here. I even do not want to suggest you to listen to several songs… the entire album is so damn good that you will play it again and again. There is no point in reading these lines anymore… go out and get this masterpiece!
