SURPRISE OF JANUARY 2007

So
the good chemistry between band’s members is more than obvious if you
listen to this album. European melodic rock/AOR mixed up with American
melodic elements and the result is really amazing. The album exhales an
80s rock feeling and will bring to your mind the good days of Toto and
Giant. The album contains nice melodious catchy rockers like: “The Enemy
Within”, “Sign Up for Love” (my beloved one), “Home Away From Home”,
“In The Shadows”, excellent westcoast mellow tunes like: “How Can I
Change The World?” and “Flying High” and heartbreaking ballads such
us “How Do We Stay In Love” (it has a Michael Bolton touch) and
“Sworn To Silence” will make you love this album. There’s
no way not to be taken away by the album’s quality. The production is
awesome and you cannot “escape” its haunting melodies that will stick
in your mind. When many bands try to play melodic rock these days and they
end up copying the big bands of the genre and producing average/bad
melodic rock/AOR music then comes this Sweden/American band to prove that
if you wanna play good music with catchy melodies you must be inspirited…
if everything goes the way it should then Code has a lot to offer to the
genre. Trust them and they will not leave you unsatisfied. by Thanos Aggelakis 8,5/10 |
