SURPRISE OF AUGUST 2005

CRASHDÏET
“REST IN SLEAZE”

(Universal)

I’ve been expecting for such an album for a long time now. I didn’t know which band was going to release it but I only knew that sleaze hard rock music was in need of an album that would launch the whole genre to the top... and I believe that we just found it! Yes, the last few years many good bands have released nice albums and things started taking a good way as it concerned sleaze hard rock music especially in America and Sweden of course. But we needed an album that would show that things are no more on the rise and the dirty glam vagabond baby that all this time was getting older has now matured and it’s time to give us some classics again... to make an 80’s era not in the heart of the 80’s but in the heart of the 00’s! This time the leading country won’t be
America and especially L.A. but Sweden ! Are you ready? Let’s ride!!

Crashdiet is a fresh band that was formed in 2000 in order to worship the bands and the music that its members liked the most... but who could imagine that this band would become one of the leading forces in sleaze hard rock music of the 00’s? Not even the band members could have imagined that, despite they always knew deep inside them that they can go far... but how far? As long as they are already on the way to the top... it can’t be that far! Take the best elements of Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, Nasty Idols and Def Leppard, mix ‘em together and then you will have a new born baby that is called Crashdiet and that is capable of reaching the top! The image of the band is very nice, paying tribute to all the great bands of the 80’s and if we look at the band’s photos we will wonder in which time period we do live in! But Crashdiet is not only about image or good management... they are also very talented they can write excellent catchy songs and they know that the music part is the most important thing.

“Rest In Sleaze” is an album that’s full of hits. I don’t remember another album on the last few years that had so many hits in it. Surely, I’m talking about that five songs of the album are big hits and are gonna make a big impact to all the fans of rock music very soon Keep on your mind those song titles: “Riot In Everyone” is a pure anthem with an excellent memorable chorus and some of the best backing vocals that we heard lately and a very good steady and powerful tempo. “Queen Obscene/69 Shots” is a fantastic hard rock dynamite with a very nice and impressive chorus. “Breakin’ The Chainz” is one of the best hard rock hymns of our time... pure rockin’ gold! “It’s A Miracle” is in my opinion the best song of the album and a mid-tempo catchy as hell tune that can be simply characterized as a classic one! It has an extraordinary chorus with some excellent background vocals and a very smart melody. Fuckin’ incredible!! “Out Of Line” is a great rockin’ song with a Motley Crue influence on the guitar that’s mixed up with some Hellacopters vocals ideas. A brilliant rock n’ roll song!! The rest of the songs: “Knokk ‘Em Down”, “Tikket”, “Needle In Your Eyes”, “Straight Outta Hell”, “Back On Trakk” are very good as well and do not even think that they may be bad or even average tracks. We are talking about some excellent hard rock tunes with strong choruses but unfortunately on a record with so many hits they stay in the shadow of the aforementioned songs... just like it happened to some songs on “Hysteria”.

If you think that this is another good hard rock album and nothing more, then you really don’t know what you are missing here. Just think that in 10 or 20 years you and some younger guys will be searching for this album like maniacs!! So, better get it now and do not wait 10 or 20 years to get it by paying a huge amount of money. Simply the best album of 2005 on its genre and one of the best debuts of the last 15 years! If there is a new rock band that deserves to be called the new kings of sleaze hard rock music then definitely its name must be Crashdiet!!!
