SURPRISE OF APRIL 2007

W.A.S.P.
“DOMINATOR”

(Demolition Records)

That was a pleasant surprise… W.A.S.P. finally released a very good heavy metal album after a couple of disappointing albums of the past years. “Dominator” reminds us why W.A.S.P. is one of the premier heavy metal bands… even today. They can play good, melodic, inspired music and “Dominator” proves that every time you push “play”. Heavy songs like: “Mercy”, “Long Long Way To Go”, “The Burning Man”, “Heaven’s Blessed” and “Teacher along with the sentimental, touching W.A.S.P. anthems: “Take Me Up” and “Heaven’s Hung In Black” make this album irresistible for any rock/metal fans out there. Even though I like “Dying For The World” very much, I can easily say that “Dominator”, overall is a better album. It will bring on your mind a little bit of “Crimson Idol” and “Headless Children” but this album has its own personality and finally has Blackie’s magic touch. My only objection is that “Dominator” has only 8 songs (it has a reprise version of “Heaven’s Hung In Black”) and lasts only 43 minutes… and believe me, it’s not enough! Thank goodness that we have the chance to push “play” again and again”. I do not think that I need to say more in order to make you understand that this album is one of the best works that W.A.S.P. has released in the last decade… if you have second thoughts about it… just listen to it only one time and you will be taken away.
