Back from retirement… Rock ‘N’ Rolf… is here again with his so called pirate metal… but was it good to return 7 years later with a new studio album… or he had better stayed home? Probably, the experiment with Toxic Waste wasn’t successful at all so… what else have you got than to go back to your safe land?
Although the childish cover artwork, honestly it’s the worst I’ve seen in years, does not make you wanna play the CD… I was thinking… that we should not judge a book by its cover… so I made the mistake and listened to it.
I was never a big fan of Running Wild… but I can remember they had delivered some great songs throughout their career and they used to have die-hard fans. Believe it or not this album is more hard rockin’… meaning that you won’t find any speed metal tracks with sing along choruses and powerful fast guitars & drumming… but rather some mid-tempo dull hard rockers… that seem to have been forgotten in Rolf’s shelf for far too many years. Lonewolf sound more Running Wild than the band itself… especially now that Rolf has lost his identity… so better listen to them if you wanna have a taste of the old Running Wild.
This album is the epitome of boringness and non-inspiration… even the production is flat… not dynamics at all… everything here is so damn monotonous that you’ll have to deal with something else while listening to it… if you do not wanna be bored to death! I do not think that the band’s die-hard fans will like it at all… this is tedious and uninspired by any means. I, fairly, can’t say which is the worst part of this album… the cover artwork or the music…? Probably, Rolf had better stayed at home…
