The US heavy/power metalers are back with their 4th release entitled “Bury The Light”. Although they have been around for almost 15 years, they have only released 4 full length albums… a thing which shows that the band’s releasing music when it has something new to offer.

Here, you will listen to US heavy/power music along with some euro-power metal & progressive elements… bands like: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helstar, Jag Panzer, Crimson Glory, Iced Earth, Manilla Road, Destiny’s End etc. seem to be the bands that have influenced Pharaoh. The musicianship & the songs are rather fine but it seems that something’s missing here… so as to make this album more enjoyable. Conversely, the production does not help this work at all… cuz it’s not so clear neither very powerful… and it reminded me of the productions heavy/power metal bands used to have in the 90s.

Maybe, if the album sounded better and the songwriting was more solid… this album would have been among the best releases of the year… but it’s nowhere near that now. It’s not bad… but it doesn’t have what it takes to take you by storm in any case. Nonetheless, “Year Of The Blizzard” is a great heavy-power/prog song.
