Motorfingers is a newcomer that was formed in 2008 in Italy. After several line-up changes and the release of two EPs… they started recording their debut album in 2011.
The guys are blending hard rock with modern, alternative and heavy elements. Some bands that have influenced them are: Faith No More, Velvet Revolver, Alice in Chains, Nickelback, Guns N’ Roses and generally they seem to prefer the US sound more. They’ve got the will to present their own material but they’re rather lost inside their influences. The album is not terrible… however, it doesn’t have the energy or the songwriting to be above average. The quite “raw” & dry production doesn’t help the final outcome as well… the sound is OK… but not as powerful as it should have been.
This is just the debut album of Motorfingers… so they will learn from their slip-ups and they will present something more personal and steady in the future. There’s so big rivalry in the music scene that needs ongoing effort… if you wanna survive in the music “pandemonium” of our time…
