I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Lullacry is a Finnish band that was formed back in 1998. They took a big break for about 7 years after “Vol. 4”, which was released in 2005… and now they’re back with a new album.

The band blends a little bit of gothic metal with modern & hard rock and they seem to have been influenced by bands like Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Evanescence (the modern side of them) and so on. They’re trying to be a bit commercial here but they do not succeed it as the songwriting is flat and mostly bland. You won’t find any catchy refrains or strong melodies in this album… and although Tanja has a good voice… when she sings like a little mincing girl… she’s sort of annoying. I think, that the last three songs “Broken (Into Pieces)”, “Were Are Fear” & the acoustic “Stay” are the strongest of this album… but unluckily, the other ones are mostly generic and below average.

They should have come up with a better and most decent release after 7 years… but, unfortunately, they didn’t. The production is good though… as the CD was produced by Mikko Herranen (ex-Misery Inc.), who also sings on “Feel My Revenge”… and mastered bySvante Forsbäck at Chartmakers in Helsinki. Apart from this… there’s nothing exciting about this album…
