Lucid Dreams have been going on since 2007; they’ve played in various gigs and also had several line-up changes. All those things resulted in their releasing their debut album now, almost 7 years after they started out.

Lucid Dreams blend hard rock, heavy metal, melodic metal, rock & roll, melodic rock and hard & heavy music together. A few bands that may cross your mind while listening to their debut are: Pretty Maids, Jorn, Van Halen, Jaded Heart, Pink Cream 69 and so on. Even though the band balances between hard rock & melodic metal… I mostly prefer the melodic hard rockin’ tunes. It’s like they’re struggling to find their own music identity but that won’t take ‘em long. However, the production is great. The album was mixed and mastered by the master Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids, TNT, Jorn etc.) and produced by the band’s guitarist Rune Gutuen.

I kinda feel that the debut is somewhat uneven. It features several strong tracks such as: “Cassies Escape”, “For Your Love”, “Lucid Dream” while the others are OK and rather typical. As I said earlier, when they find their exact sound, work more on their weaknesses and on their melodies then they can go for the big ride. They have the talent, the ideas and the guts… thus it’s totally up to them to make it…
