Llvme are hailing from Spain and “Yía De Nuesu” is the band’s latest work. Balancing between atmospheric doom and black/death metal… they managed to embellish it with violins, bagpipes and female vocals. They do bring on mind bands like: My Dying Bride, Moonspell, Primordial & Rotting Christ (their death/black side) at times… and in general, the pagan/folk features are all over this release.
They’ve chosen to sing in their native language and that’s something that won’t help them reach any bigger audience… but if they are fine with the Spanish one then for me it’s more than OK. The main flaw of this album is the raw and demo-like production. The official press release says that the CD was mixed and mastered by Daniel Cardoso (Anneke van Giersbergen, Heavenwood) at Ultrasound Studios… but I can’t tell what on earth Daniel has done eventually. I do not think he will be proud of this work at all… this could have easily come from a quite good home-studio as well. It’s a bad thing that the weak production harms the final outcome a lot.
Possibly, the guys will take care of the production thing on their next album and they will choose to sing in English too… for they have some good ideas here and there… they just need to be delivered properly.
