L’Alba Di Morrigan is a newcomer from Italy… which is keen to blending atmospheric, emotional, alternative & post-rock/metal music. Their style is good… although there are some noteworthy things they can change for the better on their next releases. That mix of Katatonia meets Anathema meets A Perfect Circle meets Isis meets Enochian Theory… lacks personality. There some moments when the similarities are too obvious and that hurts the band eventually.
On the other hand, the moody production… gives the album the appropriate gloomy touch it needs and songs like: “The Fairies Circle”, “Silence” & “The Essence Remains” are leaving certain promises for the future. There’s a guest appearance on the album by Frank Default (Katatonia and Bloodbath) who took care of the keyboards & programming. The cover artwork was designed by Helder Pedro (God Is An Astronaut, Callisto and Jacob). I’d like to see how the band will evolve and what they will present in their next release.
