Three years after his first solo album, “Loyal to None”, the German guitarist/songwriter/producer Herman Frank (Accept, Victory, Moon’Doc) is back with a new release and almost a whole new band… as only the bassist Peter Pichl is participating in the album. This time Herman has a new vocalist, Rick Altzi (At Vance, Sandalinas, Thunderstone), a new guitarist, who has also performed live along with Frank in the past, Cristos Mamalitsidis and a new drummer, Michael Wolpers.
“Right in the Guts” is what the title states right away… this is hard n’ heavy music with double bass drumming, heavy guitars, metal solos and raspy-passionate vocals. Staying true to the heavy metal/hard rock roots Herman and his guys do nothin’ more than paying tribute to what we loved most in the 80s. Sometimes heavier & more powerful… while others more melodic and rockin’… having also a bit “raw” 80s-90s production (Herman is responsible for mixing, producing & mastering the album as well)… this album will bring all the 80s-90s heavy metal lovers… an evil smile on their faces. The performances are very good, Rick sometimes brings JSS on mind… and generally, if you are still into heavy metal music… and a fan to the new Accept album, and you do not want many variations in your hard n’ heavy music… then “Right in the Guts” will please you…
