Eye of Solitude is an atmospheric doom-death metal band that’s coming from London, UK. “Sui Caedere” is the sophomore release of the band which embellishes its doom-death metal with atmospheric, gothic, symphonic, funeral, dark, melancholic, sorrow, acoustic & melodic elements. The vocals are deep death growls… that even though they fit this kind of music, I believe that they are in need of being blended with some beautiful clean ones just to break the monotony of the death roars.
Eye of Solitude are influenced by acts like: My Dying Bride, Draconian, Paradise Lost (first era), Amorphis (first era), Skepticism, Swallow the Sun & Saturnus among others… while they sustain all those features that made the specific genre beloved to its fans throughout the years. The production is quite good (it could have been clearer & richer generally) and their music is mostly expressing negative feelings, grief, pain & sorrow.
Even though, you’re not going to listen to anything new here… it’s true that this is a well-produced album in any way. The guys know how to deliver sorrowful, depressive, gloomy, death-doom music and they do it well. If you consider yourself to be a fan of the particular genre then why not taste them whenever you can… surely, you’ll find some nice mournful & dim music here…
