Surprise Of November 2005

These Spanish guys will surely drive us crazy! After an impressive debut album almost 4 years ago, they are back with an even better release! That’s really exciting and shows that the band has spent many hours working again and again on the songs in order to present us a flawless release... and they finally did it! The sound also of the band has changed a little bit, it became harder and it’s rather influenced by Bon Jovi and Harem Scarem. I would call this album a melodic hard rock one with many AOR elements and a few modern touches. The production is just superb and very powerful and it was done by the band! A very professional and dynamic production, I must say!

“Times They Change” has 13 songs and one intro... really nice seeing the band offering us 51 minutes of great rock music! After the atmospheric one minute “Intro” we listen to the opener hard rock hymn “Seal It With A Kiss”... hard guitars, nice keys and of course the trademark of the band... Jesús Espin’s incredible vocals! Very good chorus that needs a few listens to get into it and then you will love it!! “I Wanna Be In Love” has a Harem’s rock vibe with a very nice chorus. “Tell Me Why” has a soft intro till the bridge of the song where it rocks very good. I love the refrain of the song... it has a Bon Jovi feeling. “Far Away” is the first power ballad of the album and I call it a power ballad ‘cause although it starts with piano and acoustic guitars it gets harder on the chorus and on the second verse of the song. I like very much its memorable chorus and the beautiful guitars. Excellent song again! “Times They Change” is my first beloved song of this album. A pure hard rockin’ anthem that rocks like hell! What a great guitar riff and what an excellent catchy melodic chorus! Absolutely brilliant! “Every Day Goes By” has some modern rock elements, but it’s a nice songs with a good rockin’ chorus. “Hopes And Dreams” is another great song of the album and my second beloved one... fantastic vocals, powerful guitar riff and a chorus that will stick in your head right away. One of the best songs of this year. “Another Reason” is another very good rocker on the album... very nice chorus as well. “Wings Of Fire” is a brilliant up-tempo rocker with a very smart bridge and a strong guitar riff. I like the chorus also with the good background vocals. “Stand Beside You” is the big ballad of this album... a touching slow-tempo song which will make you fall in love again! Jesús sings his heart out on this song! A great ballad that must has some air-play. “Hard To Forget” is a rocker that has a modern touch just like some late Bon Jovi songs... but it is very good as well. “Will You Ever” is lovely melodic rocker with a very smooth chorus that you will sing all day long. Another winner on the album. “Remember The Good Times” is one of the hardest songs of the album... heavy guitar riffs with nice vocal melodies and a catchy chorus that you will love.

In a time that some of the really big names of rock music have failed us and some others still trying to find their way, it’s the young bands that show that they can become the leaders of rock music without any fear at all. 91 Suite truly made a break here. If “Times They Change” is not the best album of the year, then it surely is one of the top three albums of 2005... and do not be surprised if you see this album some years after to be considered as a classic one! It’s a pure dynamite! You don’t have much to think about this one... get it now... or just get it later... no matter when, you will surely get it some day! Times they definitely change and the young will prevail!
