Following the release of their debut album “With Might and Main” in 2017, Hertfordshire’s alt-metal quintet Defences are thrilled to step back into the fray to unveil a treasure trove of announcements, starting with the welcoming of a new member to their fold!

Announced on the band’s social media at the start of 2019, newcomer William Young arrives to bolster their existing arsenal and compliment vocalist Cherry Duesbury’s cool, melodic grace with a fresh array of screamed vocal fury.

Young’s introduction to the band now enables them to inject an unbridled passion and rage into their music - and they are keen to show off Young’s talents to their followers. As such, Defences will release an earth-shattering new video single, titled “Shatter”, in the near future!

The band tease the single with a 34-second clip, with their newest member appearing just before the video’s close...

Though Defences remain tight-lipped at this time as to the lyrical content of their latest single, Young has already commented on his entry into the band, and his first appearance on their recorded music...

“This was a great point of entry for me with Defences as they felt very much in the same mindset as myself. This upcoming single represents a new start for not only myself, but the band as well...and that’s quite apparent in the slight shift in sound that you’ll hear”, says Young.

Defences are thrilled to close off their flurry of announcements with the confirmation of two upcoming performance dates in London and Guildford...
