Dancehall to release new single “Virgin” on May 19th 2017

Dancehall Virgin single cover
Dancehall are a trio of believers in distortion, energy and melody who meld their droning shoegaze with serrated punk. Based in London and from previous punk bands Kill Kenada & Ice Sea Dead People, they've honed their craft of writing tightly wound songs via copious amounts of bedroom demoing, rehearsing in Limehouse, recording and fried chicken.

“Virgin” & the B-side “Digging” were recorded live by Mark Jasper at Sound Savers Studios (Cold Pumas, Sauna Youth, Slowcoaches, etc.) under the constraints of the band's own 3-take rule.

Lyrically, Timothy V (singer/bassist) says: “"Virgin" is a nod to the pressures of modern youth and the loss of it through advertising, media, sex, social media, etc. A faint farewell to the clichéd values that they have been built upon and a repositioning of rock 'n' roll's tired message”.

The record is released on 7" vinyl courtesy of the band's own label, Anti Vibe Music Group & Strong Island Records in Portsmouth with a string of dates in the UK and European shows to be announced.
