Surprise Of March 2004 |
TNT
is one of my all-time favourite bands. I do not believe that there
is a single fan that haven’t listen to eternal diamonds like
“Knights Of The New Thunder”, “Tell No Tales” and “Intuition”.
So, the big bet was how TNT would sound today? Their last year’s
E.P. left me with the best impressions and if you remember
I was taken away by the songs and in the
end I was saying that due to this E.P. they made us wait their next
studio album with a lot of anxiety.
Well, TNT knows exactly how to sound fresh in every time and how not
to eliminate their good hard rock elements that characterise their
sound all these years. So, the new “face” of TNT in 2004 is
fresh with the quality and the experience of the “old face”. It
is so hard to explain you how TNT managed to do something that
others are trying very hard and at the end they finally fail!
One big secret of TNT I believe that is the good chemistry between
the band members and especially between Tony and Ronni who are
responsible for the crystal clear and strong production of this
album, and for the astonishing songs as well. Those two guys know
exactly what the fans of the band and not only, want from TNT today.
The album opens with the excellent “Invisible Noise”, where we
listen to a classic scream of Tony and then a great heavy riff…
this is a very good way to open the album. “She Needs Me” comes
with great power in order to leaves us breathless as this one is an
excellent TNT anthem and one of the best songs of the album! The
next song, “Lonely Nights” is an absolutely killer one! We are
talking about one of the best melodic songs of the year! This song
has an amazing melodic chorus. One of the best songs that TNT have
ever written! We go on, with the wonderful, dark, heavy homonymous
song, which shows the hard side of the band. “Give Me A Sign” is
a track that was taken from the last year’s E.P. and it was
remixed in order to be in the new album. As I have mention about
year ago, that song was my favourite from the E.P. and I cannot
change my opinion now! “Perfectly” is the first ballad of the
album. I cannot tell much about this song cause every time I listen
to it, my soul’s aching! Just listen to it in every way that you
can! One of the best ballads ever! Back to the rock land again…
with “You’ll Be There” a very beautiful, light melodic rock
song. A small acoustic break with “Flow” and then back to a song
that was also in the last year’s E.P. of the band. “Live Today”
was my number two favourite song from the E.P. and still I’m
listening to it with great pleasure. “Everybody’s Got A Secret”
is a nice pop/rock song and an easy-listening one. “Everything U R”
is another classic TNT song in the vein of the “old” songs. Once
again Tony’s performance is excellent! “Song 4 Dianne” is the
most “strange” song that I have ever listened to from TNT. An
excellent Celtic sensitive ballad that only TNT can write! So far
away from their own style but so great! Tony’s wife is singing
also in this song. Outstanding ballad. The album closes with the
short instrumental “The Last Word”.
It is sure that “My Religion” is one of the top three albums of the band and of course only time can tell if this album will become a classic one or not. In my opinion this album is so far better than I expected and of course is one of the best albums of this year. If you love TNT do not miss this album for any reason. If you love hard rock music then again don’t hesitate to buy this album. Personally I consider “My Religion” and “Intuition” as the best albums of TNT. There is not better album, till now, if you wanna listen to something fresh with great quality. This album is not a surprise to me. This is just TNT!!!
