Surprise Of June 2002

After a short time period (only 14 months) Wasp are back again with an incredible new album which is called "Dying For The World". And when I say that "Dying For The World" is a unique and incredible album, I'm not exaggerating. Blackie Lawless was influenced from letters written to the band from the Gulf War and the 9/11 attacks, and composed a dark, mysterious and heavy album. Personally, I consider this album as the best that WASP have released
the last 10 years! And I believe that many of you will agree with me. Another thing that I want to mention in this point, is that even though Holmes left once again the band that doesn't seem to infect Blackie and also the new member Darrell Roberts on guitar, seems like he has understood how difficult is his work in the band and I think that he passed the examinations with
success! I feel that Wasp are stronger than ever before and they're to reclaim the popularity and the fame that, once had, in the heavy metal
union.
I've listened to this album many times again and again I really cannot tell which song is better from the other! So, let me
describe you track by track this astonishing work: The album is opening with "Shadow Man", a very dark, melodic and at the same time a typical WASP song with a superb chorus! The next song is "My Wicked Heart" and once again Blackie
prooves that Iron Maiden are one the bands that have mostly infected him as a musician. A terrific song! We go on with "Hallowed Ground ", which is maybe the best song of the album. What can someone say for this outstanding song? "Hallowed Ground" is condemned to be a classic WASP song (my mind goes to "Crimson Idol" and I think that the magnificent voice of Blackie will continue to haunt me for many years!) and not only! "Hell For Eternity" is the next song of the album, and it's a "weird" almost fast-tempo song with a wonderful refrain that will stick in your mind at the first time! The fifth song of the album is called "Stone Cold Killers" and is an absolutely brilliant WASP song. We continue with "Revengence (Be Thy Name)", which has a rock 'n' roll-WASP rhythm and it is going to be loved from every fan of the band! After that, we listen to "Trail Of Tears", a mysterious, dark and full of despair slow-tempo hymn! Blackie's voice is coming straight from the bottom of his soul! This song will make you shiver! "Black Bone Torso" is the most atmospheric song of the album and once more Blackie sings like he's from another world! The album continues with the "Rubber Man", a very good typical, almost fast-tempo WASP song. And finally the album ends with the acoustic version of the song "Hallowed Ground", which is simply divine!!!
As you have understood from what I have said before, "Dying For The World" is a classic WASP album, which shows that the band is ready to take a leading part in the heavy metal genre. I will recommend to
all of you out there, to buy this album and to thank Blackie that decided to put WASP back in the top metal bands of metal music! WASP maybe released the best album of 2002 and one of the best of their career!
