Again the BBC showed to the world how radio productions should be made by having artists of the size of Jimi plus others like Cream, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, to play live for their Saturday night shows! Alexis Korner can be easily considered nowadays as the daddy of the English blues by promoting many, many new bands by his radio job. Jimi Hendrix back in ’67 was big in America already, but it wasn’t until his first U.K. visit that Jimi Hendrix received worldwide appreciation.

There is something here to be noted about the consistency of the British music industry during these times. For the Americans I cannot say a word because they seem to be from another planet, but for the English c***s I can say that they know and love their music enough to promote and live by it.

Anyway, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, this ridiculous crew put their bomb to explode in the BBC studios. The recording resembles in sound every other BBC sessions CD (you will understand if you have already listened to something similar) and reminds to all of us the magic that so carefully constructed studios offer as the tape run for miles and miles! Noel Reading on bass and Mitch Mitchel on drums provided the rhythm section of one of the greatest guitarists of all time during this part of his career. What Jimi would do next if he didn’t die so soon???
