Hi Aldo and welcome to Grande Rock. Firstly, do tell us… how Eleventh Hour came to life and also give us a brief bio of the band.

A: Hello everyone, I’m the guitarist, founding member and producer of Eleventh Hour. I’ve written the tracks of our debut album, “Memory of a Lifetime Journey”.

How did you come up with the band’s name Eleventh Hour?

A: It was Alessandro Del Vecchio’s idea, Eleventh Hour is a song of the “Fates Warning”, which Alessandro liked.

Is Eleventh Hour a full band or a side project of yours?

A: Yes, it’s my project, after I wrote and arranged all of the tracks with Giuseppe Carella, I started to look around for some musicians that were interested in taking part in this adventure called Eleventh Hour.

What was the musical direction that you wanted to give to Eleventh Hour? Which are your influences as a musician in general?

A: “Memory of a Lifetime Journey” absolutely cannot be defined as being only one style of music, as it combines many genres, demonstrating influences of progressive and power metal.

Did it take you some time to finalize the band’s line-up? What were the essentials that you wanted musicians to have in order to be part of your band?

A: I started to look for musicians after I finished writing the tracks. I was already friends with Luca Mazzucconi, our drummer, and Alberto Sonzogno, our keyboardist, and Black Jin, our bass player, was a friend of Luca’s. I’ve decided to contact via email Alessandro, our singer, and after he listened to a couple of tracks he decided to be part of this adventure.

I didn’t know that Alessandro Del Vecchio had such a good voice on the whole. It was a bit of a surprise for me to see him fronting the band. What was the benefit that Alessandro brought to Eleventh Hour, apart from his excellent production values?

A: Alessandro is an exceptional talent, not only as a singer but also as a keyboardist. He’s a great producer and thanks to his background in blues and rock, he has introduced an extra layer to the albums tracks, integrating some particular vocal lines making the tone original compared to your usual metal group.

Did you have in mind to cooperate with Del Vecchio, even though he wasn’t a part of the band or the cooperation came afterwards?

A: The collaboration with Alessandro came about later, I hadn\t heard about him until a friend of mine heard that I was looking for a singer for a personal project, and he introduced me to Alessandro. His talent struck a chord with me and I decided to contact him. After he listened to some tracks, he finally decided to become part of our project.

What does the album title “Memory of a Lifetime Journey” declare?

A: The lyrics talk about a journey, which could be interpreted in many ways, it could be the journey that takes you home after many years spent away from your loved ones, or an internal travel that a person faces when trying to find your belief in yourself again, or rediscovering your faith.

You arranged all the songs and also wrote the orchestral parts along with Giuseppe Carella. I’ve read that those music ideas had been kept in a drawer for years… why’s that? Why did it take you so long to bring them out?

A: I wrote these songs in the past, but after finding the courage, and maturing musically, I put all of my ideas into practice, and arrange them professionally. Giuseppe Carella has been really helpful with his knowledge, adding some orchestral sections that make it different from general symphonic metal.

Are you planning to release a video (lyric or concept) anytime soon? If yes, for which track?

A: Yes, soon the video for “Sleeping in My Dreams” will be available.

Which are the band’s touring plans? Do you think that Del Vecchio will manage to follow the band on a tour due to his tight program in general?

A: At the moment we are considering the offers of live performance. Alessandro will be available for any possible tours; we just need to organize all the details before that…

How would you describe Eleventh Hour’s music style to someone who hasn’t heard of the band at all?

A: As I have said before I could describe our project as being Symphonic Progressive Metal.

How do you dream to see Eleventh Hour in a few years from now?

A: We really hope that our music and our work will be appreciated all over the world, and as a result be able to bring our album” Memory of a Lifetime Journey” live to every stage on the planet.
