Great music is everywhere…

GR logoIt’s true that 2017 made quite an entrance on the musical, social & political part. I won’t deal with anything else but music; although things are not going so well both on the social & political part and soon they are gonna affect music as well. Let’s hope that this won’t happen anytime soon and somehow we will manage to get through it.

Therefore, almost after a month & something, I can actually say that we have come upon some truly impressive new releases that have made us wondering “is the best yet to come” or “has it already come”? In any way, some big bands have released some amazing new albums but the most exciting part for me is the newcomers that seem to release remarkable debuts out of nowhere. They also showcase that they need no (big or small) labels behind them to do the job, only inspiration and talent… and that’s exactly the key to success.

Here on Grande Rock we are making quite an effort to “discover” some really noteworthy newcomers and present them to you. That’s the actual essence of music… having notable newcomers to continue the music legacy of the old ones. I know that you can read about the well-known bands almost everywhere and also see how much “praise” they gain from all the webzines/ezines, most of the times for no reason… but where can we read about newcomers that none has “discovered” yet and none cares about? That’s the catch. When some of these newcomers gain popularity then everyone tries to get a part from it. I could bring a recent example of a band that we have presented when they were independent and afterwards they got signed to a big label, they are “hard to get now” and the press praises them, but there’s no reason to do such a thing.

Those who have been keeping in pace with Grande Rock all these years know precisely who we are, what we do and that we serve/promote (rock/metal) music in various ways…

PS1: Damn what’s that curse with all those deaths of musicians?! I thought that this thing would end now that 2017 is here but unfortunately it is still going on... let’s hope it will end anytime soon.

PS2: The Model Spotlight for this month is the sexy Torro. Check out her interview and pics here.

PS3: Regrettably, a few days ago the legendary songwriter, vocalist & bassist John Wetton passed away. John had been a part of several well-known bands such as: Asia, Uriah Heep, King Crimson, Wishbone Ash and U.K. among others. Words cannot express how much John had offered to rock music all these years and we (the fans) cannot thank him enough for the amazing music he has produced. A big thanks for the music John – it will never fade away… Rest In Peace…
