The blind leading the blind…

GR logoWell, you never know what might pop-up out of nothing every month or so. This time I had to deal with those musicians who cannot stand to get a bad review. They believe everything they touch is gold and everyone should bow to their greatness! The most disappointing thing of all is how some fans/followers act the way they are told to by their leaders – the well-known musicians. They are something like the “personal army” of the musicians and they take orders of how they should act in certain situations.

A couple of weeks ago a well-known guitarist (click here to read the whole incident/event), couldn’t accept a bad review for his newest album (even though he claims he can take both good & bad reviews) and he fantasized that the reviewer had personal issues with him and made a personal attack! That’s a great imagination – wish he had such fine imagination in music too!!! Anyhow, he made an FB post where he urged his fans to visit the review-page and “express their positive opinion” over this guy.

He wrote exactly: “Hmmm, don’t think most of you agree with this guy. I usually take the good with the bad but his self-pity line made me want to share. I write from the soul… I do these records alone because I want to. Not because I need to. Everyone is entitled to their opinions… however attack me personally in a music review… Pick your favorite word followed by the word YOU! Please express your opinions to this persona who obviously didn’t listen to more than 10 seconds of a song I ever recorded… Take a few seconds to let know that his as easy as it is to express his thoughtless review it’s as easy to get a wtf? He can comment on me and my life not knowing me at all! Don’t take it past music dude… it’s a new age! Such a pity!”

The FB post was deleted after a couple of hours! This is how right he was and how professional this musician is! He doesn’t even have the guts to stand up for his own opinion. Urging people to “attack the press”… ain’t much of a democratic thing to do right?! Hehehe…

Afterwards he sent an email saying: “I appreciate all reviews good and bad. When you attack me personally through my music it’s not even sort of professional. Hope your reviewer enjoys his positive reports... It's a pity”.

Nobody attacked him personally – why should they do such a thing?!! He just cannot find an inner-balance when he reads a bad review and he wants to return “the positive reports” (as he says) back!!! This is “professionalism” in his book!!!

Indeed, it’s a pity to see some fans/followers acting immediately to their master’s command and cursing a reviewer without even knowing what’s going on or never having read the review!!! It’s a pity how foolishly & inanely some fans follow their beloved artists and they are ready to do any immoral acts on behalf of their master!!! Com’ on guys it’s 2015… a few months just before 2016 and you act so thoughtlessly! It’s your names that are under this review; where you curse and you play the “good guys” to your “leader”… your beloved musician is not there to cover you!!!

I wonder… if their beloved musicians ask them to fall off a cliff will they do so and how fast will they do it?!! Just little people, with no personal lives, who like to live through the life of their “idols”!!! That’s a damn pity!

PS: It’s very hopeful that most of the big bands have released some very good albums lately, but the most important of all is that the so called “smaller” bands, which keep our beloved music alive & active as they keep delivering wonderful music of all kinds…

PS2: The gorgeous & sexy Galily is our Model Spotlight of this month. Enjoy her pictures & read her interview here.

PS3: This month’s editorial is dedicated to the great guitarist Gary Richrath from REO Speedwagon, who passed away a couple of weeks ago. We are grateful for all these great rockers & ballads, he offered us through the years. May He Rest In Peace…
