symphonic metal
Symphonic heavy/power metal music, or just symphonic metal if you prefer, is a very elaborate, demanding and pompous music. It may sound like a “game” to some but it is neither that easy to play nor write a damn good tune. So, why am I saying all those things, huh? You will see…

“We are very proud to announce that the new RHAPSODY album will be released in June/July 2014 by Nuclear Blast. Once again it will be produced by me and it will be recorded and mixed by Sebastian Röder at the Backyard Studios of Kempten (Germany)”, states Luca Turilli.
DARK MOOR are pleased to announce the cover for their new album "ARS MUSICA" which will be released on JUNE 18th 2013!
Symphonic Power Metal masters Dark Moor are glad to announce the release of their new album "Ars Musica", following the success of their previous, critically acclaimed effort "Ancestral Romance".
Dark Moor have taken another step forward in their career, forging a more identifiable sound and expanding their songwriting in multiple directions.
Italy must be the country with the most power metal bands in the world! Rhapsody did spread the “power metal virus” in the country back in the day but they also marked the whole scene and no Italian power metal band can escape their influence. Derdian on the other hand are still here spreading the European power metal disease here and there. Auspiciously, this is the band’s fifth full-length release in 15 years!
Hi Will… As I have already told you “Bringer of Light” is a stunning piece of work! Kudos!
W: Thank you, glad you like it!
First things first… You were formed back in 2006… but you finally self-released an EP called “Shadow Symphony” only three years later. You had probably been working on your musical ideas all these years and trying to make a steady line-up for the band… right?

Having been around for more than 15 years, these Italian power metalers know exactly what they want and what they can give. The big news this time is the band’s new singer, Michele Luppi (ex-Vision Divine, Thaurorod), which brought fresh air to the group with his wonderful vocals. Those who complained that their ex-singer “Ramon” was the weak link of Secret Sphere better have a look at them now.
Today we have breathtaking news for all AVANTASIANS: The new album will be called “THE MYSTERY OF TIME“, and is set for release in March.
Immediately after the release of this new Metal Opera, based on a story written by Tobias Sammet, the band will embark on a full-fledged indoor-tour, during which the band and special guests will bring the epic undertaking to the stage. Due to embracing all of the different eras and history of AVANTASIA these shows will have an extended playing time, and the whole evening will be dedicated to Avantasia with no support acts. Guests and album details will be announced soon!
I remember this Italian female fronted band from 2010 when they released their debut album. I can recall they had a very good singer and some good ideas here & there. Time has passed, that singer left the band and now a new one, Elie Syrelia, has stepped in. There goes a new bassist Andrea Arcangeli (DGM) too. The new singer Elie has a more rockin’ & powerful voice, she’s not a soprano and that’s something I like.
