Helloween to release new live album “United Alive” on October 4th 2019

It was The Sensation of the year 2016. During the Hellbook production to celebrate Helloween’s 30th anniversary, the contributors came to realize that the chemistry in the band had always been unique – and that what belongs together needs to be together again. However, the birth of “Pumpkins United” wasn’t just an original line-up reunion, but the real deal. The ultimate cast consisting of all seven metal heroes: Deris, Kiske, Weikath, Hansen, Grosskopf, Gerstner, and Löble.

Helloween announces new live release and new studio album with Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen

A very special summer season, not only due to the tropical heat, is slowly coming to an end: Festivals have been rocked so hard that we would’ve been sweating even if mercury hadn’t been on a permanent high.

Among the massive Pumpkins United World Tour’s open air highlights were, of course, the headline slots at Wacken, Barcelona’s Rock Fest and Masters of Rock – but also the mega gigs with Iron Maiden at Sweden Rock Festival and Florence’s Firenze Rocks in June were definitely shows we’ll remember for all eternity. Thanks to everyone who has been with us until now!

Helloween to release “Pumpkins United” 10" vinyl single on December 8th 2017

The “Pumpkins United World Tour” is going to be raw awesomeness! The news of Andi, Michi, Kai, Weiki, Sascha, Markus, and Dani sharing the same stage has caused shockwaves across the metal world.

Allow us to briefly show off with some numbers: The super tour, with plenty of dates sold out for a while now, will be witnessed by more than 10,000 in Mexico City, 16,000 Brazilians will be rocking out in São Paulo, 9,000 have checked in at Santiago de Chile while in Stuttgart there'll be 6,000; 8,000 can't wait until the Milan show.

Lonewolf - Raised on Metal

Lonewolf have been going on since the early 90s even though it took them nearly a decade to properly debut in the early 00s. These unrelenting and unrepenting Alpian metallians are back with their ninth album so far and despite only Jens Borner being the sole remaining member since their beginning, they seem to have managed to persevere through the ups and downs and to have kept their style pretty consistent throughout the lineup changes that have occurred.

DragonForce - Reaching Into Infinity

Somehow, no-matter if I tried, I found it difficult to like DragonForce more than a bit, mainly due to their formulaic approach to songwriting that seems to prefer fast riffing over anything else… while most of their songs can have nice parts, they predictably end up going into a flurry of notes that almost always sounds nearly identical. Live they also sound even “thinner” than in the studio, which is not really much to go on, if you like things a bit heavier and meatier.

Ranger - Speed & Violence

Ranger is a Helsinki based outfit that seems to be big fans of bands like Slayer (“Show No Mercy” era), Exciter, Sodom and the likes, with the balance tipping mostly towards the Americans, as they ape most of their trademarks, well enough, but without much originality.

They say that mimicking is the highest form of flattery, but I doubt someone was waiting with baited breath for a decent early Slayer clone in 2016, but a clone none the less.

Ranger to release new studio album “Speed & Violence” on December 2nd 2016

Helsinki-based speed metal demons Ranger have unleashed the fury that is their new album “Speed & Violence” by debuting a brand new song, titled “Lethal Force”.

The album is set for release on December 2nd, 2016.

Lethal Force is currently available as an instant grat track for those who pre-order “Speed & Violence”.

Running Wild to release new album “Rapid Foray” on August 26th 2016

Good things come to those who wait: three years after the release of “Resilient” (2013), Running Wild have announced the title and release date of their latest album: “Rapid Foray” will be available from physical and digital retailers from August 26th, 2016 as a box set, on Digipak CD, double vinyl LP and for digital download.

Lonewolf - The Heathen Dawn

I remember listening to these Frenchies debut some fifteen years ago and being probably impressed by their “Running Wild” inspired metal that in the “raw” excitement, sounded rather good… in the years that followed I sort of lost them and for the purposes of these review I decided to brush off their “in-between” releases so to update myself with their history.
