Rock & Sock Records announced today that they are releasing "Tokyo's Fifth" by their recording artist, Tokyo Rosenthal. Appropriately titled, this is Rosenthal's fifth album on the Rock & Sock label, and number five in only six years. The record includes 9 new original tunes penned by "Toke" and a rare cover of Lennon and McCartney's "Helter Skelter". Also included on the new CD is a video of the album's first single, "What Did I Used To Be?", which went "mini-viral". This is Tokyo's latest release since the critically acclaimed "Who Was That Man?" from 2011. That album made the Top 10 on most Americana Charts.
I’ve always kept an eye on this inimitable band from Poland, which, auspiciously, released its 3rd album almost 3 years after “Soul’s Inner Pendulum”. This time the band has a new singer, Marcin Jajkiewicz, who joined them in 2011. He has a suave & colorful voice and I think that it was a good choice in the main.
The white man with the black voice… that’s how they called Joe back in the day. Undoubtedly, his unique blues voice can be described only with the above-mentioned phrase. Joe is a gifted vocalist in any way. Since his Woodstock days, one could tell that this guy had a bright future ahead of him.
Independent Singer/Songwriter Aria Knight Debuts New Music From Her Upcoming Summer 2013 Release in San Francisco in Early December
What the hell is that? Somebody must be joking here… for if he does then it’s OK by me… but if they indeed sell this album to the fans then they surely doesn’t respect them at all.
I’m quite sure that the fans, weren’t expecting from Jeff to come back with a bland album of 50s/60s classics that lasts about 27 minutes! What a waste of time this one is! I still cannot understand why somebody will go that way. It’s easy to record some cover songs and go on… especially if you do not have any new material but what’s the point ofthat? Just, to show that you’re here, alive again & ready to do what?!
