I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Stone Orange is a hard rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia. As I started writing this review for the band’s new album “The Dreamcatcher” I promised myself not to use the sentence “they sound OK for a band from Slovenia”.

Right now it must be hell to be Geoff Tate.

Most of the fans of Queensryche demonize and mock him, his former band mates are locked in a legal battle with him over the rights of the band’s name with the comical situation of the two Queensryche’s and well both bands are on the road trying to feed the “legal eagles” that feed off both the bands “carcasses” by mounting nostalgia tours to pay for the legal bills. Nice one.

Australian 4 piece The City ShakeUp have built their reputation with punk around the edges renegade rock. Born from the bowels of 90’s punk and rock – TCSU write their music collectively drawing on the combined influences and ideals of all four members in the band. This united front is heavily represented on their latest EP “Trigger Happy Slander” – a social commentary on the less chivalrous – Addressing futile hostility, first world problems and everyone’s old friend heart-ache.

Hi Marcus… “The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire” was the one of freshest and most creative debut albums I have heard this year so far. Way to go dude…

M: Thanks dude! It’s nice to hear so many positive things about our record!

What has the story of the band been so far? When and how did it all start?

Energetic young melodic hard rock upstarts FAHRAN have confirmed they are gearing up for appearances at two of the UK’s most prestigious rock and metal festivals this summer: Download Festival and Bloodstock Open Air.

As well as appearing on Download Festival’s Jägermeister stage on Saturday 15th June, the Derby-based five-piece are honored to have been awarded the headline slot on the influential New Blood stage at Bloodstock Open Air on Friday 9th August.

Lead guitarist Jake Graham comments:
After the first leg of HARDCORE SUPERSTAR’s “C’mon Take On Me” tour in spring in support of their latest eponymous album release with sold-out shows in Sweden and Finland, the street metallers will take their notorious live celebrations to other corners of Europe in November/December – in the course of a co-headliner tour with L.A. based rockers BUCKCHERRY, including full sets of both bands!

Be sure to be there when the wild bunch parties down your town.

Portland, Oregon heavy rockers APE MACHINE are set to kick a 13-date trek across Europe next week in support of their newest release, "Mangled by the Machine".

The tour, which begins on Friday, May 31st in Münster and includes an appearance at the Freak Valley Festival (June 1st in Netphen - www.freakvalley.de) will see APE MACHINE providing direct support for Small Stone recording artists NIGHTSTALKER.

Tributes are paid to a "world-class" rock musician who played with Bowie’s Spiders From Mars and Uriah Heep.

Uriah Heep and Spiders From Mars bassist Trevor Bolder has died from cancer, aged 62.

Bolder joined David Bowie's backing band in 1971, appearing on classic albums including Hunky Dory and Aladdin Sane. He went on to join Uriah Heep five years later and only stopped playing with the band a few months ago, due to his poor health.

Swedish classic rock superstars GRAVEYARD have been confirmed as direct support for the upcoming European run of US grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN.
