Insect Ark to release new studio album “The Vanishing” on February 28th 2020

Insect Ark - currently made up of founder Dana Schechter (Swans) and Andy Patterson (ex SubRosa) - have been crafting uncomfortable soundscapes that feel both intimate and icy cold since 2011. Nightmarish horror film-like visions, outer space travel, and gritty noir textures were explored in their previous offerings - the much-praised Portal / Well” (2015) and “Marrow Hymns” (2018) - but now, something far greater is coming. Prepare for “The Vanishing”.

You’ve had this run of albums that are all have colored titles. Was there a plan to naming all the albums based on this?

Baroness’ fans came out in droves to catch their favorite band play. With little fanfare, the band made their way onto the stage. While their entrance may not have been dramatic, from the moment they plugged in their instruments and kicked off the night with “A Horse Called Golgatha”, that’s when the action began. With precision rapid fire riffs things took off. Everyone in the place was enthralled with what they were seeing and just how well-oiled a machine Baroness is.
