Vikram to release debut album “Behind the Mask I” on October 25th 2019

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of Brazil progressive/oriental metallers Vikram for the release of their debut album “Behind the Mask I” on October 25th, 2019.

With influences that range from progressive metal to folk and ethnic, their music can be described as “Oriental Progressive Metal”. The project is idealized by Tiago Della Vega, known for the Guinness Book title of world’s fastest guitarist and his appearances on some TV shows all over the world.

Ark Ascent release music video for new single “Innocence Lost”

UK progressive metal band, Ark Ascent, featuring former Shadowkeep vocalist Rogue Marechal, current DGM bassist Andrea Arcangeli and Sirenia drummer Michael Brush, have released a new music video for the new single “Innocence Lost”, the track is taken from their debut album “Downfall”, which is set for release on September 27th, 2019, via Ascent Records.

Dream Theater announces Winter 2020 European Headlining Tour

Dream Theater, twice Grammy-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans, are thrilled to announce the European leg of their most recent “Evening With” touring cycle; featuring a celebration of the band’s latest record, “Distance Over Time”, and their acclaimed milestone achievement, “Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory”.

Taking things from the start, the opening act, The Price, gave a good performance, but only for a limited crowd (supposedly due to the early opening on a weekday). Their mixture of alternative-meets-nu metal-meets-post grunge proved quite interesting, testifying for a band with talent. We might hear more from them in the future.
 

Tool - Fear Inoculum

When people were making jokes about Guns and Roses taking forever to release the much fabled “Chinese Democracy” they didn’t know that Tool would also take some thirteen years to follow up “10.000 Days” with a new album, not that this band has been known for their rapid-fire output, having won the luxury of releasing albums whenever they wish to, while at the same time keeping busy in a variety of side projects.
 

Fought Upon Earth to release new studio album “Grave Miscalculation” on October 4th 2019

San Francisco Bay Area instrumental progressive metal unit Fought Upon Earth - featuring former members of Acid King, Secrets Of The Sky, And Scorched-Earth Policy - will unleash their “Grave Miscalculation” full-length this fall.   
 
The sonically mesmerizing, nine-track affair was produced by the band with Juan Urteaga (Cattle Decapitation, Secrets Of The Sky, Exhumed), mixed by Urteaga, and includes a rendition of “Old Coat”, by Peter, Paul, And Mary.
 

North Of South releases lyric video for new single “Ember Remains”

Spanish prog project North Of South are glad to announce that they have signed a deal with WormHoleDeath for the release of their new EP, “The Dogma and the Outsider” (TBA).

The first single of the upcoming EP, “Ember Remains”, is out now via Wormholedeath / The Orchard worldwide. “Ember Remains” features Orphaned Land’s lead singer Kobi Farhi!

Tool announces Fall 2019 North American Headlining Tour

“Fear Inoculum”, Tool’s fifth studio album and 2019’s most anticipated release, is available now. Listen here.

The news arrives as the band announces a six-week North American tour, launching the trek on Oct. 13 at the Aftershock Festival. Tickets are on-sale Sept. 6 at 10 am local time, with a limited number of tickets will be available to Tool Army members on Sept. 4.
