I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Melodic Metallers FIREWIND have successfully wrapped up the calendar year 2012 with 4 packed club-shows in their native Greece (Two nights in Thessaloniki and 2 nights in Athens), commencing the celebration of the band's 10th Anniversary of existence.

Additionally, and right before the end of the year festivities, FIREWIND also entered studios in order to mix recordings from their "Few Against Many" live-campaign last year for an upcoming live-album, scheduled to be released before the summer of 2013. Look out for more details soon...

This time our beloved and so overcrowded female-fronted symphonic power metal music is coming from France. Whyzdom’s sophomore release had been in the pipeline for a while due to the singer changes. Finally, the chosen one is the beautiful Elvyne Lorient who also has a good voice. The band, of course, is the brainchild of the composer/guitarist/producer Vynce Leff.

Hi Luke. “In Death’s Shadow” is an incredible album by any means! Congrats! We named it the Best Album of December on Grande Rock!

L: Hi! Thank you very much, I am honoured and thrilled for In Death’s Shadow to be chosen as your best album of December!

Well, tell us what has changed since your EP, “Unholy” in 2008?

I happened upon this band, coincidentally, as another band with the same name had released a new album around this time-period and I sorta confused them. Gladly enough, I then realized that this band, Knightmare, is a newcomer from Australia (the Australians are coming with full force this period) and “In Death’s Shadow” is the band’s long awaited & long in the making debut release. They did release an EP called “Unholy” in 2008 but since then the band’s line-up has changed a lot. So, nowadays the band consists of the two founding members, the vocalist MICKoWAR and the guitarist/keyboardist Luke Besley and the newer ones, the guitarist Jim Munro & the bassist Matt McConaghy.

It sometimes makes me wonder… why some bands got the exposure they deserved back in the day, why some others got more than they were worthy of, while others stayed underground and became known to a bunch of metal freaks that buy & support anything that’s different and cult… especially if it comes from the 80s.

While the sun ain't gonna shine anymore in Finland's darkest days of the year, FINNTROLL stick to their 3 years album cycle and started recording their 6th album at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki. The yet untitled follow up to 2010's masterpiece "Nifelvind" will be released worldwide through Century Media Records in late March 2013.

I remember this Italian female fronted band from 2010 when they released their debut album. I can recall they had a very good singer and some good ideas here & there. Time has passed, that singer left the band and now a new one, Elie Syrelia, has stepped in. There goes a new bassist Andrea Arcangeli (DGM) too. The new singer Elie has a more rockin’ & powerful voice, she’s not a soprano and that’s something I like.

Trying to figure out what kind of music this band plays wasn’t hard. Judging by the cover artwork, I was sorta sure it had to do with heavy metal music generally. This newcomer from Italy started in 2009 and they released their debut in 2011. Now after nearly a year they’re back with their sophomore release.

ENVINYA were founded in 2006 and play metal with catchy melodies and groovy guitar riffs.

They released a 5-track EP, "Beyond The Dawn", in 2010 which received great reviews.

The band's statement about the signing:
"Signing with Massacre Records was an important step for us. To work with people who believe in us and support us helps us to keep moving forward and to spread our music worldwide"!
