I remember the way promotion used to be made by all the labels about 12 years ago. They had several promo CD copies that they shared with magazines & webzines around the globe. Certainly this...

Michigan hard rock luminary, Taproot, has announced a new string of tour-dates to wrap up the band's headlining "Gift" tour. The three-week run, which will see the band perform its debut album Gift in its entirety, will kick off June 21 in Toledo, Ohio. A full list of confirmed dates can be seen below.

PTSD is an alternative metal band from Grottammare, Italy. Influenced by bands like 30 Seconds To Mars and Breaking Benjamin, PTSD were formed in 2005 and in 2008 they released their first album entitled “Burepolom”. Now that it’s 2013, it was time for them to release their second one called “A Sense of Decay”. Personally, I would have been fine if they hadn’t.

Stone Orange is a hard rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia. As I started writing this review for the band’s new album “The Dreamcatcher” I promised myself not to use the sentence “they sound OK for a band from Slovenia”.

I don’t think that Drowning Pool need much of an introduction. Most of us have heard about them thanks to their 2001 single “Bodies” from the album “Sinner”. 12 years after that and with Jasen Moreno joining the band as lead vocalist, it was time for them to release their new album entitled “Resilience”. Once again, they stay true to the alternative metal and post-grunge style of music they’ve been playing with great success all those years.
SixStingNoise started out in 2010 as a one man’s band. In 2012, they became an actual band and in 2013 it was time to release their second album called “Likewise”. The album is a clear case of post-grunge, hard/heavy rock like Hinder and Breaking Benjamin.

With a name like Sixstring Noise it is implied that we are dealing with a band mostly based on guitars. That is more or less  the case here. While the lead guitar does come first in the mixing of every song, don’t expect any long and elaborate guitar solos that take up half the song. To be exact: imagine a Zakk Wylde band with half the guitar solos; that’s SixStringNoise.

I was afraid that something like this might happen. Well, to be honest, I was pretty sure about it. You see even though Stone Sour haven’t released a superb album on the whole to go crazy, they have always had several strong tunes on their releases as well as some more mediocre and a few poor. That’s the case, if we want to be fair, with all the Stone Sour albums.

Slovenian hard rock band Stone Orange will publish its second album “The Dreamcatcher” under Street Symphonies on April 23rd 2013.

The album, the band’s first work in English, was anticipated by the single “Nobody Cares”, whose videoclip can be seen below.

Tracklist:

1. Broken Man
2. I Am (Whatever)
3. Pride And Pain
4. Rockin’ & Rollin’
Well, I didn’t have any great expectations from this band, so I approach their new – sixth – studio release kinda carefully. Their video for the track “Gluttony” left me under good impressions and I was hoping that the whole album would be as enjoyable and rockin’ as that aforementioned tune. If that were the case then I would probably have gone wrong about them… and I wanted it to be that way.

Century Media records is proud to announce the signing of LA's own AWAKEN THE EMPIRE. With influences ranging from Nirvana, The Cure and Smashing Pumpkins to A Place To Bury Strangers, Gwen Mars and Hans Zimmer, AWAKEN THE EMPIRE has created an organic and cinematic sound that is all their own, each song complete with soaring vocal melodies, addictive hooks and a passion that is audible with each note.

Something weird is going on here… as part of their renewal, Scarlet & Bakerteam records have made a new opening to different rock music styles & signed with a few bands that are keen on the 90s grunge & alternative rock music. Rhyme are coming from Italy and they were formed in 2008. “The Seed and the Sewage” is the band’s sophomore release.
