Formed in the summer of 2010 in the heart of Cascadia, “Winterwheel” is the second offering from blackened folk metal duo Moss of Moonlight and will be released this summer solstice on June 21st, 2013.

Described as “a true rarity in the black metal genre” by Pure Gain Audio, “Winterwheel” follows the highly acclaimed debut “Seed”, a concept album about a band of Pacific North Western rebels that rise up and create the Republic of Cascadia.

The trolls of Nordic folklore are believed to be dirty creatures of enormous strength and appetite. Their grotesque physique grants them a comic element, although the humour tends to be on the grim side as these nocturne beings hunger for human flesh. Unsurprisingly, this has earned them a rather bad reputation. All things considered, FINNTROLL are the perfect embodiment of all aforementioned sentiments - although one might want to replace the hunger for human meat with an unquenchable thirst for booze.

Finland’s ENSIFERUM have spent the past 18 years honing the steel of their folk-infused battle metal auditory attack. Their albums are further bolstered by a live show that has become one of the most entertaining in all of metal. Proof of ENSIFERUM’s status as one of the most vital bands in modern metal was made apparent through their headlining slot on this year’s Paganfest USA tour. The band inked the deal with Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel during the Paganfest USA tour, and all parties are enthusiastic about new music and new possibilities.
