Die! Die! Die! - Charm. Offensive

Die! Die! Die! is a New Zealand based post punk/noise pop trio that has had too many bassists and half a dozen albums since the early 00s. Think Wheatus, with extra lo-fi production on purpose through a meat grinder. Pretty damn close… the poppy vocal melodies and happiness are twisted out of form by noisy guitars and a playful bass that’s more prominent than you’d have expected it to be.

The Wedding Present to release new album “Marc Riley Sessions Volume 2” on October 6th 2017

Few bands are so ingrained into the notion of the BBC radio session as The Wedding Present. Long time favourites of the late, great John Peel, David Gedge and his band appeared regularly on that legendary presenter’s BBC Radio 1 show and have continued their association with “Auntie” by performing many unforgettable sessions on the popular “Marc Riley Show” on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Due to the popularity of these sessions, The Wedding Present, in conjunction with Hatch Records and the BBC, have joined forces to produce a trilogy of releases featuring every momentous track performed for Marc’s award-winning show over a ten-year period.

Taffy announces July 2017 UK Tour Dates

Critically acclaimed Japanese indie-pop four piece Taffy return this year with their fourth studio album, “Nyctophilia”, released on April 7th, 2017.

“Nyctophilia” showcases everything you could want from a Taffy record, but with a subtle difference; “I always write the songs as singles”, explains singer Iris, “but for this album, for the first time, I wrote songs just to be part of the album”.

This is evident upon first listen, where texture and sonic exploration take center stage, offering a coherent and thematically-interlinked body of work.

The Flaming Lips - Oczy Mlody

I’m still trying to recall if I actually listened to this album or I dreamt that I listened to it… I totally believe that the music of this album put me to sleep without even knowing how and when… it was like a trippy sleeping journey with various ambient psychedelic sounds here and there. Damn, it was so nice till I woke up and it all came back to me!

Primal Scream - Chaosmosis

$hit… asked to review Primal Scream’s latest album; I do have a bit of a problem… Primal Scream are basically a pop/rock band, but screw me and themselves if they can be placed under a certain label/exact genre. They’ve been electronic(a), pop, somewhat rock, dance, indie… you name it… not bad for a Scottish band that came out of the new wave, but really came out quite different and really unfit to be categorized. They really happened in the early mid-90s, although they’ve kept on going, past that…

Flowers to release “Everybody’s Dying to Meet You” on February 12th 2016

There’s something great about a three-piece – think The Cocteau Twins, The Clean, Galaxie 500 – and the way that irreducible nucleus takes its strength from its limitations, making a virtue of its purity. And so it is with London trio Flowers, returning with their second album “Everybody’s Dying to Meet You” on February 12th, 2016 via Fortuna Pop! (EU) and Kanine (US). Over the course of ten intensely thrilling pop songs, singer Rachel Kenedy's ethereal vocals and Sam Ayres textured guitar are backed by the powerful, metronomic beat of drummer Jordan Hockley.
